Some see the glass half empty…

Beautiful Sunset

I took this pic on a field in Santa Isabel, Puerto Rico…  Some will quickly see the beautiful sunset.  Others will see the pretty green fields.  But most of us will see the huge pile of S#!T first…

Thought this would be a great analogy of life and how beautiful it can be if you look at it the right way.

Of Pies and blogs and friends…

First things first, I have gone on and on about this, but I am beyond happy with my blog redesign. My amazing and amazingly talented husband and robot surprised me with the new blog yesterday. It is BEAUTIFUL!

Meet my husband!

I’ll probably keep gushing about this on FB and Twitter for days and weeks to come, so be warned.

This post may get a bit lengthy, but I just wanted to share.

Every thanksgiving for the past couple of years, I’ve been trying to look up and try different dessert recipes to torture surprise my guinea pigs family with. This year was no different.

After sifting through countless recipes on some of my favorite cooking websites, I settled on 159 2 to try. Since I usually make wildly different pies for both of our families, I usually end up hearing how everyone wanted to try the other pie. So, this year, we did the same thing. Two pecan pies, yes, but one cheesecake and one apple. Very different, different looking and different results.

To make things a little easier, I purchased the pie crusts. Honestly, I felt BAD about this! I love making my own. But, work and life and I get in the way sometimes, so pre made it was. Thankfully, they weren’t bad.

First choice? Caramelized Apple and Pecan Pie

Tsunami!

Today is Guns N’ Roses day!!! Yes!

Not only that, but my husband surprised me by telling me to “pack a bag” with enough clothes for a couple of days. So, mini-vacation for us!

Score! Have I told you lately that I love that man?! What? I haven’t? Well, I do. Like a lot. 😀

I’m happy and excited and I’ll be sure to get back to tell all 3 of you (YES! there were three comments, there WERE 3 of you, Wooohooo!) how it all went.

My husband is not only thoughtful and smart and handsome, he’s also very talented. Just look at what he did yesterday just because he was bored for a couple of minutes…

It's the Puerto Rico Capitol Building...

Isn’t it lovely? 😉 He’s the best.

Puerto Rico Airshow – US Airforce Thunderbirds!

Yesterday, I had the incredible experience of attending my first Air Show. I learned so many things from this experience!!!

First: If you’re going to an Air Show in Puerto Rico, wear proper sun protection. And Reapply!(OUCH!)

Second: Bring one of those annoying folding chairs. There is nowhere to sit, of course unless you want to sit on the very very very hot pavement…

Third: Bring a blanket.

Fourth: Bring lots of change and buy lots of water (even though it will get hot within 3 seconds of purchase.

Fifth: Get ready to spend over an hour in a traffic jam to go in. Park so far away that you could have probably walked there from the nearest mall… And get ready for it to take up to 3 hours to get out of there.

And finally, and most important of all. Air Shows RULE! Even with the heat, the sun, the standing for hours, the very hot drinking water, and getting claustrophobic when surrounded by more than two people (I’m sure for a while there I was suffering from some sort of heat stroke)… It was all WORTH IT! And I would go back tomorrow in a heartbeat.

It was amazing, awe-inspiring and at times, even kind of emotional for me. Every part of the show was amazing. I am probably the dumbest person when it comes to airplanes, I must say. Still, not being able to name (even ONE of the) planes I saw did not deter from my experience. I absolutely loved it. The whole show was artistic, inspiring and definitely worth the hassle of getting there.

My husband (my robot!) took some amazing pictures and put together a video of the experience. Check them out! I LOVE them!

The Robot was here!

Yes, I’m sooo happy that my robot was here. It means I can finally come clean. Just blurt out the truth so all of the world knows…
I LOVE Robots!

Yes, I love robots. Not only that. I’m IN LOVE with a robot. And, the robot loves me! He actually made a visit to my blog and made it pretty! I love it! (If you haven’t met him, well, meet my Husband!)

I guess I’m into robots. I love the Roomba and the Scooba, I love my killer robot, and I also LOVE Wall-e! It’s a wonderful movie with many positive messages and an interesting commentary on what the world could be. If we keep messing it up. It was refreshing and also, incredibly beautiful.

Wall-e and Eve!

A love story with robots. How perfect is that?!
